Louisiana Native, Chandler Louque, has been dancing for over 20 years. She is educated in contemporary, ballet, modern, jazz, tap, musical theatre and hip hop from the wisdom of renowned choreographers like Daniel Masterson, Jason Parsons, Dj Guthrie, JT Horenstein, Christian Vincent and many more. While training at a young age at professional performing arts studio, Jean Leigh Academy of Dance, Chandler was under the instruction of expert Dianna Jones. Even at an early age, Chandler quickly developed a passion for dance that continues until this very day.
At the age of 16, Chandler began teaching and choreographing her own Jazz and Hip Hop classes. Through this experience, is where her love for being a choreographer grew. In 2008, Chandler toured nationally with LA Dance Magic's Company as an assistant in classes of more than 1000 students. She traveled all over the country performing and assisting choreographers like Dj Guthrie and Jackie Sleight. As apart of her company experience, she was also featured in Dance Spirit Magazine as the next "Future Star Award." Chandler has broadened her dance genres by studying Asian/Pacific forms of dance at the University of Hawaii. Recently obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in Dance, Chandler is excited for the new opportunities that may come.
Chandler's teaching philosophy is to push the mental and physical state to its fullest potential. As the quote above states, "... Dancing is to be out of yourself," and this is something that Chandler implements into her art.
Chandler is currently living on the beautiful island of Oahu where she is performing and choreographing with Balance Forward Contemporary Ballet Company, Dance Couture Jazz Company, and KreativGroovement Hip Hop Company. She has also recently become a certified Pure Barre Instructor and will be teaching classes in the first Pure Barre studio in Oahu.
